✨ Today was a special day in Mrs. Mcrae’s class! Students typed up their final drafts about their families, pouring their hearts into their stories. 📝❤️ #FamilyStories #Education #ClassroomGoals

Mark your calendars for our first picture day which is SEPTEMBER 4th! Flyers will go home on Monday!

In Pre-K, we have learned so much about kindness, friendships and what it takes to be a good friend this week by making friendships bracelets & today we made our very own “friendship recipe” using all the lucky charms🤪👯💙

Today was a BLUE day! 💙💙 💙 Not because we're sad, but because our kindergarteners are joyfully celebrating color days! What color do you think we should celebrate next? Share your thoughts! 🌈✨

📚✨ Today was an exciting day for our 4th graders in Mrs. Evans’s class! Students attended orientation in the Media Center, where they learned about the library's expectations, how to check out books, and even created their own bookmarks. 🤩✂️📖
The highlight of the day was receiving their library cards and checking out their very first books of the year. The smiles on their faces said it all — a new year of reading adventures has officially begun! 💛 #ReadersAreLeaders #LPEFamily #TheVikingWay

In ELA with Mrs. Evans, students built their class reading community by discussing Our Class is a Family and learning how to support one another—just like family! Students practiced long vowels, r-controlled vowels, and open/closed syllables to strengthen reading, spelling, and writing. Students also continue to work on their close reading strategies and listening skills with Listening Ninja. They used text evidence to answer questions, wrote thoughtful journal responses, and learned to identify an author’s purpose. Proud of these focused and hardworking readers you are ready to LEAD with respect, PREPARE with purpose, EXCEL with effort!

Mrs. Cliett’s first grade Discovery students are excited to adopt their very own classroom pet. Each student completed an adoption application and filled out an animal information card to officially “adopt” their new furry, scaly, or feathery friend. Throughout this unit, students will explore the responsibilities that come with pet ownership, including learning how to budget for their animal’s needs such as food, shelter, and healthcare. They will also dive into research to discover fun facts and important details about their chosen pet. This hands-on project encourages responsibility, problem-solving, and creativity while making learning meaningful and fun.

✏️📚Mrs. Evans’s classes are wasting no time getting to work! This week, students have been busy constructing sentences, practicing close reading strategies, and reviewing grammar rules—like capitalization and punctuation. They’ve also tackled identifying the parts of speech and using context clues to strengthen reading comprehension. 💪🏾🍎
They’re already building strong reading and writing habits that will carry them through the year—and beyond! #LPE #LeadPrepareExcel #VikingWay #BuildingSkills
