Mrs. Herb and the Culinary Crusaders (an after-school cooking club) practiced knife skills while making veggie turkey wraps and fruit salad on Wednesday. Every single student willingly tasted veggies they had not tried before! 🍎🥬

Ms. McCormack’s EPIC class made cupcakes and valentines for staff members that they appreciate.🩷

This week we celebrated our staff members of the month for February!! Each was surprised by our admin team with a Viking helmet and cape to celebrate their victories in the areas of Operations (Coach Strackbein), Curriculum & Instruction (Mrs. Tracy Smith), Educational Technology (Ms. Faith Taylor) and Student Services (Ms. Stephanie McCormack). We are thankful for these awesome educators! ❤️🍏#OneLowndes

7th grade science students delved into the fascinating process of energy transfer within an ecosystem. They explored the journey of energy from the sun all the way to apex predators, using a hands-on activity to create a human energy pyramid. By observing how energy (symbolized by Starbursts) is passed from one level to the next, students gained a deeper understanding of energy flow in nature. 🌞🔋 #ScienceInAction #EnergyTransfer #HandsOnLearning #Ecosystems #7thGradeScience

Are you a rising 9th grader interested in sideline or competition cheerleading at LHS next year? Or are you interested in middle school competition cheer? Coaches will hold an informational meeting for students and their parents on February 19 at 3:45 in the PGM Commons. 📣 #OneLowndes

Congratulations to All-State Chorus students Cooper Blocher (left, 7th grade) and Calix Lary (right, 8th grade)!
All-State Chorus invites the best middle and high school students from across Georgia to participate in auditions that test students' singing abilities through scales, sight-reading, and song preparation. Thanks to their after-school and at-home practices, both boys passed the first and second auditions and will have the honor of being part of the 2025 All-State Tenor-Bass Chorus in Athens, GA, from February 13–15.
Mr. Young and PGM are proud of Cooper and Calix's hard work, participation, practice, and achievements! 🎶🎵

Mrs Justice’s students have been working hard on this month's interdisciplinary lesson! In science, they discussed the advantages and disadvantages of renewable and nonrenewable resources. In ELA, they applied what they learned in science as they read and analyzed information about electric vs. gas-powered cars. Their STEM journals are looking good and showing lots of creativity and critical thinking! 🚘💡⛽️ #STEM #Interdisciplinary

Congratulations to our January Students of the Month!! ⭐️ They were honored today for their hard work, positive behavior, and leadership skills. Thanks to Bojangles for a delicious lunch! 😊

This week we celebrated the students who completed our holiday reading challenge! They enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies in the media center during lunch. 😊📚❄️🍪

The EPIC classes had a health day at Bodyworks Family Fitness doing yoga and a workout! Shake Works Valdosta provided them with yummy drinks as well! 💪🏼🏃🏻♀️🏃🏽

Dr. Gatz's ELA students have been busy thinking critically! They collaborated to write paragraphs using flawed reasoning and then rotated to label the types of flawed reasoning used in paragraphs written by their peers. They also were challenged to narrow down the roughly one million words in the English language to the most important twenty. Both activities led to some very engaged and interesting conversations! ✏️ #PGMwrites

8th grade math classes used the Three Cs to complete a performance task involving scatter plots! They investigated whether or not a relationship exists between height and shoe size by gathering data and creating scatter plots. They collaborated to examine and analyze the data, draw trend lines, and write equations for the lines of best fit. 👟📏#ThreeCs

FBLA excelled at Regionals this year and brought home 13 awards for Pine Grove Middle! Awesome job, students! 😄 #FutureBusinessLeaders
